words as weapons

Greg Bennick is a friend and one of my few "left standing" heroes. In the first video below Greg is speaking at TEDx. Greg also played in a 90's political hardcore band from Seattle, TRIAL. A song (500 Years) on their demo album, about the Western Shoshone hit me like a punch in the stomach. Not only did it piss me off,  it also made me realize that i felt compassion and motivation to change things that frustrated me. Hardcore was my gateway into several political issues, including Veganism. Greg was great because not only was he talking about the problems, he was also offering solutions and ideas. For the first time i saw the potential of a strong community.
Greg is a motivational keynote speaker, writer/ producer and involved in several other projects and causes (last know whereabouts was a supply boat bound for Hatti) . I'm thankful for all he does and all that he has inspired.
....Also check out this interview with Greg by Seventh Dagger.

the gentle swastika

In Life's Other Secret, Ian Stewart suggests the ubiquitous swastika pattern arises when parallel waves of neural activity sweep across the visual cortex during states of altered consciousness, producing a swirling swastika-like image, due to the way quadrants in the field of vision are mapped to opposite areas in the brain.

piercing can be therapeutic

Everyone now and then we have minor mental breakdowns on the set of Adorned. Naturally there are good friends around who can intervene at a weak moment and convince them to do something really dumb. I read in a medical journal once that navel piercings are awesome and an excellent source of self esteem.

tibidabo

I spent October of 2009 in Spain. I was working out of LTW in Barcelona. I spent every day working and roaming around with my camera. I'm breaking this trip up into segments as i get the photo's edited and sorted.
This is Tibidabo. Its a mountain overlooking Barcelona, Spain. There is an amusement park, telecommunications tower and catholic church (Temple de Sagrat Cor). The name Tibidabo comes from Matthew 4:9..."…et dixit illi haec tibi omnia dabo si cadens adoraveris me" — "And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me"
